Geese and ducks travel the river system daily, roosting on the North Saskatchewan River and feeding in surrounding grain fields. The river acts as a natural highway, holding geese longer than many dryland-only areas. We have consistent access to thousands of birds throughout the hunting season.
Mornings begin well before first light, with comfortable field setups and realistic decoy spreads designed to pull birds in tight. Guides will have our full bodied decoys, final approach lay down blinds and A-frame blinds set up prior to your morning hunt. Hunters will be escorted to the fields before sunrise to meet their guides and spotters to start their hunt. In the afternoon we hunt ducks with final approach blinds where we retrieve 100% of the birds.
Hunters can expect a classic Alberta mixed bag. Mallards, pintails, wigeon and teal, along with strong flights of Canada geese, snow geese and sand hill cranes throughout the season. Once we fill our daily limits we pack up and head to a shop to clean the birds at no extra cost to you.
Experienced guides are committed to providing a successful hunt for our clients. Guides are responsible for quality set up, calling in the birds and retrieving them, ensuring safety for all hunters and staff. SaskAlta guides work very hard each and every day to provide a lifetime of memories for all of our hunters. We have 2 spotters to locate the best hunting areas each day. Spotters are also responsible for the bird cleaning after the hunt.
We keep group sizes manageable to ensure everyone has room to shoot and enjoy the experience. Hunts are fully guided, with decoy spreads, blinds, and local knowledge handled for you. Our goal is simple: put you in the right place, at the right time, with birds working naturally.
